About Our Watches

What is a "Seiko Mod" watch?
A Seiko Mod is a custom-built timepiece that uses a genuine Seiko automatic movement (typically the NH34, NH35, NH36, NH38 and NH70 Japanese movement) paired with aftermarket cases, dials, hands, and bezels sourced and assembled by Modtime Creations. Every watch is hand-built to order or assembled from in-stock components — it is not a factory-original Seiko model, and it is not a genuine product of any other watch brand.

Are these "homage" watches the same as replicas or counterfeits?
No. Our watches are original assemblies that draw stylistic inspiration from classic, iconic watch design elements that have become popular throughout watchmaking history — for example, certain case shapes, dial layouts, or bezel styles. We do not manufacture, sell, or market counterfeit goods. Our products:

  • Do not use any other brand's registered logo, wordmark, or trademarked dial text.
  • Do not claim, imply, or represent that they are genuine products of any other brand.
  • Are clearly marketed as Seiko-based custom builds, not as originals of any other manufacturer.

If you ever see wording, imagery, or a customer comment on our site that uses terms like "replica," "clone," "fake," or "1:1," please let us know immediately at service@modtimecreations.com so we can review and correct it — that is not how we describe our own products, and we do not permit that language to represent our work.

Are you affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any other watch brand?
No. Modtime Creations is an independent, small business. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Seiko or any other watch brand, film franchise, or trademark holder referenced anywhere in our marketing, product names, or collection names. Any resemblance between our designs and well-known watch styles is a stylistic homage only. All trademarks, brand names, and franchise names remain the property of their respective owners, and we respect those rights.

What movement is inside my watch?
All of our watches use genuine Seiko NH35 or NH38 automatic Japanese movements, which are widely used in the watch-modding community for their reliability and affordability. The movement is genuine Seiko; the case, dial, and other components are aftermarket parts, and the finished watch is not sold or represented as a genuine Seiko-brand model.

Can I request a custom dial, engraving, or personalized design?
Yes. Many of our watches offer customization options such as dial color, hands, bezel style, and personalized engraving. Please note that customized products are handled differently under our Refund Policy — see below.

Orders, Shipping & Returns

What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy on non-customized products. Items must be unworn and in their original condition. To start a return, contact us at service@modtimecreations.com. Customized products (custom dials, personalized engravings, or made-to-order builds) are final sale and are not eligible for return or refund, except where required by law. Customers in the EU have a 14-day cooling-off period as required under EU consumer protection law. Please see our full Refund Policy for complete details.

Do you offer a warranty?
Yes, all watches come with a two-year warranty covering manufacturing defects in workmanship and components. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water damage beyond the stated water-resistance rating, or normal wear and tear. Contact us at service@modtimecreations.com to make a warranty claim.

How much does shipping cost, and how long does it take?
We offer free shipping to the USA. Please see our Shipping Policy for current shipping destinations, carriers, and estimated delivery windows, as these can vary by location and order volume. If you don't see the information you need there, contact us directly and we'll confirm shipping details for your specific order before you complete your purchase.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, Shop Pay (including installment options), PayPal, and select cryptocurrency payments. All transactions are processed securely through encrypted checkout.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to customers outside the United States. International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by your local government upon delivery, which are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our listed prices.

Do you have any certifications or authorizations I should know about?
We are not an authorized dealer, licensee, or certified reseller of any other watch brand. Our watches are independently assembled products using genuine Seiko movements and aftermarket parts, and we make no claims of certification, authorization, or partnership with any other brand.
